Maria Selkou

“Art of the Blue” is a studio founded by Maria Selkou, dedicated to exploring the potential of the cyanotype process in the art of photography. By bringing back the craft in photography, the challenge is to redefine the cyanotype process and enhance it with the overlay of painting, weaving and other techniques, borrowed from different art fields.
Each cyanotype tells a visual story about places we come across in our every-day life and we tend to overlook. The gazer is invited to observe and recognize the abstracted reality that is captured in the image.
