Description:
This particular piece is part of my series called Coup de Gracê. It is called Seppuku which is a Japanese ritual suicide that was practiced by Samurai and noblemen till the 1950s. Through my painting I wanted to show the moment of pain a person would've felt as they stuck the sword through their stomach. The painting is a metaphor for the anguish that we as humans feel during various stages of life.
