Description:

Social media is the new great encyclopedic exhibition of humanity and its desire to appear and represent itself. The artist discovered this face on Instagram. What struck him was the difference with all the other selfies that fill this social media platform. This young girl 'influencer' for make-up brands does not have the usual expression of perfect, seductive beauty. "Julia" looks surprised and scared as if she is seeing her face for the first time and does not recognize herself. How many of us do not recognize ourselves in the image that the screen shows us? How many of us love the mask more than the truth? This small-format painting aims to restore Julia's truth. Signed, certificate of authenticity included.
