This double portrait is twofold. The right side is a double portrait after photos of musicians composers Igor Stravinsky with Pierre Boulez behind him. The left side is after a photo of Stravinsky at the piano top with figures spilling downwards a metaphor-portrait of his musical imagination in Rite id Spring. Boulez had played this as well as many Stravinsky pieces and was a great admirer of the genius Stravinsky.
