Description:
References: a photograph of the Dutch painter Thérèse Schwartze, who had portraits taken regularly of herself to promote her public image. After her father’s death, at 22, she had to support her family and became successful through commissions of the elite and royalty; the black “P” references the flag designed by Alida Pott, for the Dutch artist collective De Ploeg; and the word KLANK comes the tile panel on the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra building, in a quote by Dutch poet K. Schippers, "Let op wat iedereen kan horen en pas dan komt het hier toevallig tevoorschijn een nieuwe klank".
