Description:

The title is from Russian Poet Boris Slutsky, Forgiveness, 1958. The central figure represents the poet or reader of poetry. The sculptured head on a pedestal behind him right is Poesia. The lady looking at her mirror reflection is a muse, temptation, narcissism, alter-ego, sin, etc. Greek poet George Seferis’s lines “ And if the soul is to know itself It must look into a soul. The the stranger and the enemy we’ve seen in the mirror.”, were my inspiration for this “ double-image”.
