st-Art presents “A stroke of Ben Hartman”

Ben Hartman is a Marketing Creative Director from London who has lived in Amsterdam for the last 14 years.

He came over on a freelance advertising project as a copywriter and never went back. It must be the glorious weather of the Netherlands.

Ben worked as a writer, Creative Director and Executive Creative Director (very important position) at some of Amsterdam’s best ad agencies, winning plenty of awards in the process.

A year ago, while still working as a Creative Director, Ben had some art ideas he wanted to get down on paper.

So, he did – at St-Art gallery & studio. Then he had some more ideas. And some more. Funny ones. Colorful ones. Charming ones. Ugly ones. Rude ones. And lots and lots of crap ones.

These ideas are what you see on the walls of St-Art today, apart from the crap ones of course.

Come see Ben’s Exhibition 5 Aug – 20 Sept 2024, Closing event 12 Sept.  6pm at st-Art.

“At st-Art we are pleased to promote and endorse whoever has a solid concept or idea to propose and Ben’s art is perfectly matching our expectations. I met Ben few years ago and was already very much impressed by his creative personality. His capability to create a unique and interesting concept from his ideas has generated quirky exhibition.

Because of his exquisite sense of humour and his direct way of expressing it, his works are extremely entertaining to any viewer.

The idea of this exhibition is based on showing simple and every day objects connected to ironic statements and quotes. In this way the artist creates an interaction between the observer and the artwork. We are very excited to display Ben’s art as a completely new experience for st-Art”. — Carlo Tozzi
