Who is Krisztina Czika?
The art exhibition “Memories from materials” is inspired by Krisztina’s tremendous capability to explore, identify and reuse a particular object, substance, or material. For example, the series of photographs printed on concrete “Between lockdowns” results from the artist finding the negatives of some photos taken in Sri Lanka in 1991 during the civil war.
She depicted time and circumstances when the photographs were done, therefore memories, and brought them to life on concrete. This composite material hardens or cures over time, like memories.
The art exhibition will be in the brand new Cut-throat de Pijp at Quellijnstraat 102, Amsterdam, from September 25 through October 17, 2021. An opening reception will be held on September 25 at 4.30 pm. You can find further detail about the days, times and hours here.
