Why are they here?

The painting is executed in gouache on watercolour paper. It is a painting of a mystery. The plot depicts a potential story that can be interpreted in different ways. Two leopards live on a lonely island, enjoying the fantastic nature, the starry sky, the ocean.... And at the same time someone else lives ( or has lived?) on the island in a small tent on the shore. The story can be interpreted in both dramatic and optimistic-mystical ways. The painting is inspired by the works of the Romantic era in 19th century England, but in a playful way.
