Description:
Chantal poses for me. Although I met this young Canadian traveler in Amsterdam once, a year or so later she surprised me and came for a visit. I wanted to paint her more extroverted and colorfully, somewhat Fauve and less restrained. The small and pretty plants that I looked after so well and the ceramic pot in her bosom symbolic of water, of birth & life as women, are. How lovely when friends come down to visit. How lovely when they stay forever like you now have.
